Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards Winning Winery: The Brand and History of Grace Vineyard

Founded in 1997 by patriarch Chan Chun Keung, Grace Vineyard stands as one of China's pioneering family-owned boutique estates. The site was chosen following a thorough onsite assessment by Bordeaux expert Denis Boubals, who selected Taigu in Shanxi Province for its extreme continental climate. The region's harsh winters, scorching summers, and substantial diurnal temperature swings combine with its superior sandy loam conditions to create an ideal terroir for premium viticulture.

The winery is dedicated to a boutique philosophy, with the Tasya's Reserve series crafted primarily as single-varietal wines to highlight the unique character, site-specific traits, and distinctive varietal expressions of individual parcels. In 2008, Grace Vineyard was featured as a Harvard Business School case study, establishing it as a benchmark for China's fine wine sector, and in 2023 it earned a spot on the World's Best Vineyards list.

Location & Environment

Grace Vineyard is situated in Dongjia Village, Rencun, in the Taigu District of Jinzhong City in Shanxi Province, within a green ecological agriculture demonstration zone. As an integrated estate enterprise, the vineyard blends premium grape cultivation, fine wine production, trade, and cultural tourism. The winery also maintains a low-yield vineyard on the south-facing slopes of Ganchengzi on the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains, located in the northwestern part of Qingtongxia City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
