Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards Winning Winery: The Brand and History of Domaine de Long Dai
Long Dai blends French and Chinese heritage, terroir and village, human endeavor and natural forces. Its story began in 1868 with the founding of Château Lafite Rothschild in France. In 2008, Château Lafite began a new chapter in China by building a new winery in the village of Mulangou, nestled in the Qiu Shan valley not far from the sea. Since then, Long Dai has devoted itself to learning and exploring the terroir with local villagers.

Location & Environment
Domaine de Long Dai is situated in the heart of the Qiu Shan Valley, Shandong Province, in northeastern China. Just 20 kilometers from the Yellow Sea, the estate experiences generally hot summers, and its winters, while cold, are significantly milder than many other Chinese wine regions, eliminating the need to bury vines for protection.
The region has a strong agricultural tradition, and its granite-based soils are exceptionally well suited to viticulture. The Long Dai vineyards are the result of close collaboration with the neighboring Mulangou village community, whose residents played a vital role in supporting the Château Lafite team's in-depth study and understanding of the local terroir and conditions.

Main Grape Varieties
The estate has more than 40 hectares of vineyards, planted across 600 terraces in the traditional local style. The principal varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc – Château Lafite's classic Bordeaux grapes – along with Marselan, which is prized for its spicy character and vivid color.
